DEAR NORTH THIRD STREET RESIDENT/BUSINESS OWNER:

The Village of Waterville has recently awarded the North Third Street Streetscape Project to Crestline Paving & Excavating Company and has awarded the Restroom/Clock Tower Building to The Spieker Company.  Construction on the Streetscape project is anticipated to start the week of May 27.  Both of these projects will unfortunately cause temporary inconvenience to the residents and businesses along North Third Street.  Available parking will be reduced during construction and sidewalks will be removed and replaced with occasional periods without sidewalks.  Access to your doorways will be maintained, except for brief periods when construction is occurring directly in front of the doorways.  In addition, your water service and gas service will be shut-off for a few hours when reconnections are made to the new water and gas mains.  You will receive notices in advance when these are scheduled to occur.  The final completion date for the work is September 25.  To explain the project in more detail, to outline the work schedule and to answer any questions you may have, you are invited to a Public Pre-construction Meeting to be held in the Municipal Building Council Chambers, 25 North Second Street, at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, May 21.  Representatives from the Village, the Waterville Gas Company, the Contractor and the Village Engineer will be present to review the project and to answer your questions.  If you have questions but are unable to attend the meeting, please call me.

Notice - Lucas County Traffic Study - Waterville-Monclova Rd./Dutch Rd.

The Lucas County Engineer's Office has been involved in a traffic study of the Dutch

and Waterville-Monclova Rd. intersections in Waterville Township and the Village of

Waterville Corporation limits. This is an on-going study and has not been completed nor

has any determinations or resolutions been made. Part of the consideration in the study

was to analyze both intersections (west & east) to determine if warrants are met for

multi-way stops. The west intersection meets the required volumes, the east does not. The

county engineer is recommending that the intersection is converted to multi-way stop traffic

control as an interim measure until funding is obtained for the installation of

a "Modern Roundabout" or traffic signal (with future widening for turn lanes).
