Local Artisans

Brian Lonsway was a widely known and respected glassblower, born and raised in Northwest Ohio, and has been in business 28 years.  In 1979 he relocated his studio to Waterville, preferring the qualities of a small town.  He and his wife Christine bought and restored the historic Wabash House, a former tavern built in 1935, and his glass studio was located at the rear of the property.   Mr. Lonsway owned the largest known collection of Carrom-type game boards and he can be found on the web site of The Carrom Company.

Brian Lonsway passed away November 15, 2001.  Brian will be missed.

As a lover of nature and an avid fly fisherman, Benjamin Budd appreciates the natural wonders of Waterville.  He is a perfect addition to this village of fine people and talent.  As a metalsmith, Ben creates unique hand-forged pieces of jewelry reflecting a variety of influences including his own Celtic ancestry.  He designs and creates home and garden décor, as well.  As a painter, Ben’s interpretation of America’s landscapes is a fresh and unique approach in modern water media.  Ben’s artwork has been consistently displayed in several local galleries and shows since 1992.  Some of his pieces have been added to the permanent collection of the Toledo Museum of Art, as well as many private collections in the United States and Europe.  Ben and his wife, Deborah, run a home studio and virtual gallery together.  The gallery, www.benjaminbudd.com, is an ever-growing collection of original fine art and prints.  They also love to work one-on-one with clients and create that unique piece the expresses one’s true spirit.
